Happy Summer!!

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is loving NOT being at school this week!  How is everyone's summer going so far??  I have been very busy as of late, which is a good thing since I will have a VERY LONG rest in a couple of weeks.  I am still hoping to remain in my current classroom next year if all goes well, but no matter what I will still be at Cordelia Hills, you just may not see me until after Halloween.

I just met with my Doctor this afternoon and was given some unfortunate new information.  Apparently my ankle surgery will be more involved then originally thought, and will require me to be off from work until early November.  They have to replace ligaments, repair tendons, and cut/reshape the ankle bone at my heel so that my foot is better aligned with my natural stance (this will give better stability and protect against turning my ankle in the future).

Since I will not be around for a while, I would love for you all to keep in contact with me on the blog.  It is going to get very boring sitting around the house with my foot elevated for 4 months, but hearing from all of you will greatly help in keeping my spirits up.  Feel free to leave me messages all summer and into the start of the year, I would love to know how the school is doing when I am not there!!

My surgery is on July 7th, so I will post again after the surgery to let you all know how it went, and where my class will be next year (Kindergarten or Sixth Grade).  Until then, have lots of fun for me and enjoy your summer!!

  1. Hi Mr. Linnet this is Mia J. I'm sorry you have to have surgery and such a long recovery. I hope you have lots of fun this summer before your surgery. I just got back from Humboldt County and had fun playing by the ocean and collecting rocks and shells at Patrick's Point and sea glass from Glass Beach in Ft. Bragg. I also sat in the sand at Ft. Bragg and drew a picture of everything I saw, just like we did in the field at school. I also saw a sea lion sunning himself on the beach in Trinidad, I thought he was funny. Someone accidentally threw a baseball by him and couldn't get it back because they were too afraid of the sea lion. We are going to Tahoe for the fourth of July to watch the fireworks on the beach. I hope you, Sklyar, and your wife get to watch fireworks too! I will write to you soon about more of my summer adventures!
